Other rewards of frequent journaling:
- They will be easy to copy and add to a family archive.
- You can add notes about which photos you have to complement the story.
- It’s good for your emotional and mental health to unpack the events of the day by writing about them.
I would love for you to get one of our paperback journals for story collecting that are now available on Amazon. Check them out in our Stories Shop.
Discover Digital Journals
Something really exciting happened when we were creating the paperback journals earlier this year. In the midst of that creation process, we were delighted to discover the versatile note-taking tablet app GoodNotes.
GoodNotes is already being used by students in classrooms as well as by many others who use it for digital planners. We were able to adapt our paperback journal template from InDesign into a digital version that we think you’ll love.
Converting to a digital format opened up new functional possibilities that we took advantage of to add more features to our journals. While most of the journal is blank, lined pages, we also added sections with tabs for quick navigation. The tabs correspond to different topics in our free monthly journaling guides. You can find out more about them later in this article.
Take a look at how a digital journal works in GoodNotes.
Our digital journals can also be used in other note-taking tablet apps like Noteshelf. To add to your storytelling, we’ve also created seasonal sticker packs that are included as a bonus gift when you purchase the journal. They are also available for purchase separately.
GoodNotes also allows you to add photos from your device’s photo library using their Elements tool. You can illustrate your journal stories as you write them!
When you are ready to create a family story collection outside of the app, GoodNotes also has the ability to export one page or your entire journal as a PDF or image.
Use Our Seasonal Journal Guides
We hope that you can use our seasonal journal topic guides for ideas on what to write about from the past and today. We have included a topic for each day of the month that you can use in any way you please. Hopefully, your memories from the past will be triggered and those stories will start to flow – either into your computer keyboard, onto your paper, or into your digital journal.
We pre-load a couple of months of journal guides into each digital journal. These can be deleted and new ones added as they are published. The instructions for doing this as well as how to use the sticker packs are included in the back of each digital journal.
I hope you are inspired to either grab your pen and a paper journal and starting writing or to discover the fun of digital journaling today.
Happy story collecting!
